BIANCA NASH 

CHAIR

Bianca Nash is a passionate social worker with 14 years of experience in the community services industry. Bianca holds a double degree in Sociology and Social work and a Masters in Counselling. Bianca has worked in counselling and case management roles through the course of her career and has extensive experience in the provision of counselling support, case-management, and the development and facilitation of therapeutic groups.


In her career, Bianca has supported vulnerable young people with experiences of physical and psychological abuse, sexual abuse, school refusal, strained family relationships, family violence, homelessness, mental health and drug abuse. More info...

SOPHIA KOUTES 

DEPUTY CHAIR

Sophia Koutes has a passion for language and the culturally and linguistically diverse, including rare and emerging multicultural communities across Australia. With 25 years of experience in language services including two terms as Acting CEO for a State-owned Body and Government Business Enterprise, Sophia brings with her a wealth of knowledge in governance and ethical leadership, stakeholder and contract management in both the public and private sector. Her experience extends to working with Boards and Governments across all sides of politics. More info...

GEORGE KANELOPOULOS

TREASURER

 

George is a lifetime professional who on graduating from La Trobe University has worked in various roles within the finance business sector from Team Leading to Facilitating training for new employees and streamlining day to day processes.

George has a background within an Analytical framework specialising in Business Analytics and Digital Analytics. More info...

MARIA MATTHEWS

SECRETARY

Maria is undergoing the Master of Social Policy at the University of Melbourne and is a graduate from the Bachelor of Youth Work at Victoria University. She became involved with IYC as a youth reference group member and became inspired to further help the organisation via her studies to be a youth worker and later a social policy advisor and researcher.

Maria has authored with developing program concept plans for IYC regarding to boost the social capital of disadvantaged young people. She also has a keen interest in exploring the possibilities of young people living, studying, and participating in the northern peri-urban suburbs of Melbourne for IYC. More info...

LEO MANCA

BOARD MEMBER

Leo is an experienced Local Government leader having worked in a variety of positions overseeing public and environmental health, immunisation, emergency management, local laws, and currently holds the position of Team Leader Health Services at City of Boroondara. Leo has spent his career in Local Government developing relationships with stakeholders. He finds great joy in bringing together teams in the journey of change and process improvement.

 

Leo has completed a Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Public and Environmental) and a Diploma of Business. Recently, Leo assisted with the bushfire recovery in East Gippsland as well as supporting Boroondara through the COVID19 crisis. More Info...

TROY VAN DER PLUYM

Troy is an accomplished and passionate Community Development professional with domestic and foreign work experience, knowledge and skills in programme development, coordination, administration, and communications and journals.

 

Troy has skills in staff management and coordination, community and international development, project and programme development, coordination and assessment, case management, volunteer supervision, education and training, business and financial management, sport and recreation programme coordination, and event and organisational communications and publications.
